Compliance and fire safety

Documentation for your fire risk assessment and your insurer

A clean extract system is only half the job. You also need to be able to show it was cleaned, how it was cleaned and when it next needs attention. Every clean we carry out ends with a certificate and a full report.

The Fire Safety Order

What the Responsible Person needs to show

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Responsible Person should be able to show a fire risk assessment and a cleaning record for the extract. The Order applies in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different legislation.

Insurers commonly ask for evidence that extract ducts are inspected and cleaned. Our report, photographs and certificate give you that evidence in one place.

We clean to the TR19® Air specification

TR19® is published by BESA, the Building Engineering Services Association, as the industry standard for the internal cleanliness of ventilation systems. It sets out how ductwork is inspected, cleaned and documented, including before and after photographs and access to every part of the duct system.

Where access is missing we install access doors and panels, so the whole run can be inspected and cleaned.
